STEM Program Aide

The City of West Miami is seeking a qualified STEM Program Aide. The STEM Program Aide will assist the STEM Program Instructor in a six (6) week STEM Summer Program for youth entering grades 6-8 in West Miami. The STEM Program Aide will supervise groups of program participants while maintaining and upholding the mission and values of the City of West Miami, working with other members of the STEM Summer Camp Program team to support student’s social and emotional development. 

Salary: $16.00 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a structured, enjoyable experience for all youth.
  • Supervise groups of program participants.
  • Provide individual and small group support to complete projects.
  • Maintain cleanliness of facilities and prepare materials for daily activities.
  • Assist with meals, data entry, and tracking attendance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety program requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Must be qualified to work in the United States.
  • Experience in STEM programs, robotics programming, or youth enrichment preferred.
  • Valid Florida driver's license and clear background check.
  • Patience and ability to work in inclusive settings; customer service skills.

Details:

  • Temporary/seasonal (7 weeks) position funded by The Children's Trust.
  • Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (40 hours/week).
  • Must be a non-smoker.
  • Spanish fluency is a plus.
