Annual Budgets
The City of West Miami's annual budget reflects our commitment to responsible financial planning and the effective delivery of services to our community. Each year in September, the City Commission approves the annual budget, which takes effect October 1 and runs through September 30 of the following fiscal year.
For three consecutive years, the City of West Miami has earned the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), recognizing budgets that meet the highest standards established by the National Advisory Council on State and Local Budgeting. Earning this recognition three years in a row is a milestone in the City's history, and a reflection of our sustained dedication to producing a budget that serves not only as a financial plan, but also as an effective policy document, operational guide, and communication tool for our residents and stakeholders.
Transparency means more than making information available. It means presenting it in a way that is clear, accessible, and meaningful to the people we serve. That principle guides every budget we produce.
