STEM Summer Program

 The City of West Miami Recreation Center is excited to offer a 6-Week STEM Summer Program, made possible by funding assistance from The Children’s Trust. This program is designed to provide youth transitioning to grades 6-8 with a dynamic educational experience in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Program Details:

  • Dates: June 23, 2025, to August 1, 2025

  • Hours: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (Participants can also join before and after program hour activities of the regular West Miami Summer Camp)

  • Lunch: Provided by the Recreation Center or bring your own

  • Additional Perks: STEM Program T-shirt to be provided

Curriculum Overview:

Each week is structured to deliver engaging, hands-on activities, with themes including:

  • Week 1: Introduction to STEM and Scientific Inquiry

  • Week 2: Basic Robotics

  • Week 3: Environmental Science

  • Week 4: A+ Hardware

  • Week 5: Engineering Challenges

  • Week 6: Space and Astronomy

Please note that the curriculum is subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen factors.
