Since July 26, 2022, Gustavo J. Ceballos has served as a member of the Planning and Zoning Board for the City of West Miami. On May 8, 2025, he was appointed Commissioner of the City of West Miami, filling the seat vacated by Ivan Chavez Jr.
 
A distinguished attorney, Ceballos has been Assistant City Attorney and City Prosecutor for the City of Coral Gables since 2018, specializing in land use and zoning law. He previously served as Assistant City Attorney in Fort Lauderdale, advising on planning and historic preservation, and practiced at the law firm Greenberg Traurig in Miami.
 
Ceballos holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Florida International University and a Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law. Certified by the Florida Bar in city, county, and local government law, his expertise in public policy and urban development makes him a dedicated leader committed to advancing West Miami’s growth, enhancing residents’ quality of life, and promoting transparent and effective governance.
