Finance
The Finance Department, under the guidance of the City Manager, is dedicated to promoting, securing, and preserving the fiduciary interests of the City of West Miami. Our department ensures the responsible management of public funds while maintaining the highest standards of financial transparency and accountability, presented in a way that every resident can understand and trust.
A Commitment to Excellence
West Miami's Finance Department has earned three consecutive awards from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for Outstanding Budget Presentation, a milestone in the City's history that reflects a genuine dedication to communicating the City's financial story clearly and accessibly to the public we serve.
Building on that foundation, the department has applied for both the GFOA Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting (ACFR) and the Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) award. If awarded, West Miami will become a GFOA Triple Crown city, a distinction recognizing excellence across budgeting, financial reporting, and public accessibility. This would stand as a powerful testament to the City's enduring commitment to transparency, not just as a compliance obligation, but as a responsibility to our community.
