Nestled in the heart of Miami Dade County the City of West Miami is home to approximately 8500 residents and 300 business establishments.  West Miami is a three-quarter square mile City that enjoys quality of life services offered by our various City departments. City Hall opens Monday through Fridays, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM. 

The City of West Miami takes pride in delivering “Efficient City Services” to residents and to the businesses located within our Municipal boundaries.  We take pride in our ability to deliver personalized service promptly.

SERVICES:

  • The West Miami Police Department offers 24/7 Dispatch Services and round the clock police patrols and protection.  Response time is second to none. 
  • Excellent garbage and trash collection services to include Holiday Collections & Bulk Pick Up. 
  • Our Recreational Programs offer a variety of athletic services, year-round after school programs, summer camp, and winter camp.  The City’s Recreation Center is partially funded by the subsidy of 1 mil of dedicated revenue from real estate tax revenue.
  • The City offers a Community Center for the elderly in our community.  We offer a congregate meal program supervised by a Dietician, Monday through Fridays. Home-delivered meals are afforded to disabled seniors who cannot attend our center.  Educational and recreational services are offered to the seniors and disabled clients at the West Miami Community Center. City transportation to and from the Center is provided.
  • Public Works provides tree-trimming services, root pruning, street sweeping, drain cleaning, maintenance of streets signs, maintenance of City parks and entry points to our City
  • The City runs an inner-city bus service, which is funded by the ½ penny tax (approved by the voters, known as the People’s Transportation Program) at no cost to the riders
  • The City enjoys a partnership with Sylvania Heights Elementary School
